En el 2005 sale su primer álbum "Schrei" con la discográfica Universal. Han conseguido 9 discos de platino y cuatro de oro en Alemania, cuentan con cuatro discos de oro adicionales por las ventas en Austria y Suiza.

Durch den Monsun ('A través del monzón') fue el primer sencillo del album Schrei. Siendo número uno en Alemania el 20 de agosto de 2005 y se mantuvo por siete semanas consecutivas alcanzando el primer puesto en las listas austriacas.

Este álbum se reedita en 2006 con el nombre de Schrei: so laut du kannst ('Grita: tan alto como puedas') debido al cambio de registro del cantante.

En febrero de 2007 salió el segundo álbum de Tokio Hotel, "Zimmer 483", el 26 de enero se presenta su primer sencillo, Übers Ende der Welt ('Sobre el fin del mundo'). El segundo sencillo del álbum, "Spring nicht" fue lanzado el siete de abril de 2007. Un tercer sencillo, "An deiner Seite (ich bin da)" fue lanzado el 16 de noviembre. El sencillo contenía una cara B, llamada "1000 Meere" (Mil mares) acompañado de un vídeo.

Con el propósito de hacerce notar el los mercados de habla inglesa, Tokio Hotel publica un disco en Europa en inglés llamado "Scream" en junio de 2007.

El album se compone por las versiones inglesas de Schrei y Zimmer 483. "Monsoon", versión en inglés de "Durch den Monsun", fue el primer sencillo del album. "Ready, Set, Go!" (de "Übers Ende der Welt") fue lanzada como el segundo sencillo, "By Your Side" (de "An deiner Seite") como el tercero y "Don't Jump" ("Spring nicht") como el cuarto.

En junio de 2007 Tokio Hotel tuvo su primer concierto en Reino Unido . "Ready, Set, Go!" fue lanzado en el Reino Unido como el primer sencillo en agosto de 2007.

¡Todos los fans de Tokio Hotel hicimos que la banda ganara todas las categorías donde estaban en los Portrait Choice Awards! ¡Felicidades para aquellos que votaron bastante! Los chicos ganaron como canción del año por ‘Automatic’, ganaron como mejor álbum del año por Humanoid y también por mejor celebridad masculina mejor vestida por Bill Kaulitz, ¡Mira a continuación el porcentaje y por que ganaron!

- Canción del año "Automatic" por Tokio Hotel

2008 fue un año brillante para Tokio Hotel, y en el 2009 demostraron que tenían el talento y el poder para continuar en la cima. Por lo que por supuesto cuando se lanzo la canción "Automatic" – primer sencillo de su nuevo álbum Humanoid – sabíamos que los fans rápidamente podrían adoptarla. Nosotros sin duda no estábamos equivocados, con el 21% de los 29,500 votos, consideramos que "Automatic" es la canción del año 2009 en los Portrait Choice Awards! No esta mal para una canción que solo se tomaron dos horas en escribirla. Competia con: “Falling in Love” por McFly, “Any Other Day” por Hilary Duff.

- Álbum de año: "Humanoid" por Tokio Hotel

Demostraron que su éxito en 2008 no fue casualidad, estos roqueros alemanes han sacado el álbum del año por segundo año consecutivo – Pero con su nuevo álbum – Los chicos ganaron el 33% de los votos de 17,000 + Tokio Hotel demostró que tienen talento y permanecen en la parte de arriba en la cima.

- Mejor celebridad masculina mejor vestida: Bill Kaulitz

Demostró por gano con el 28% de los mas de 21, 600 votos y gano la celebridad masculina mejor vestida, Bill Kaulitz de Tokio Hotel va mas allá de los Jeans de Primera necesidad y las camisas de Rock en el armario. Bill es el icono de la moda masculina, viste camiseras y pantalones vaqueros con chaquetones y chaquetas cool, tampoco tiene miedo de usar un toque de colores y salir como el típico rockero de negro. Y no olvidemos su cabello y la extensión de accesorios!
